Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, we were happy to have Dad's parents come out for the weekend.  Our Thanksgiving tradition is to go around the table and have everyone say one thing that they are thankful for.  Here is what everyone was thankful for this year.

Dad - God's grace towards undeserving sinners
Mom - all of God's beautiful creation
Grandpop - thankful for the fact that his parents were both saved before they died
Grandmom - "her sweetheart, the most wonderful man in the world"
Sarah - the privilege of prayer
Rebecca - her salvation
Matthew - freedom
Ben - "my dirtbike"
Rachel - fishing
Hannah - "my life"
Lydia - everyone's birthdays
Joshua - Daddy (with a little coaching from the afore-mentioned person!)

~It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie!~

(Matt apparently felt the need to be in the picture too!)

~A large family requires a large turkey!~

~Even a twenty-three pound turkey doesn't last long when there are thirteen people to feed~

~Everyone except for Grandpop-he was taking the picture~

Slumber

Peacefully sleeping the baby lies,
Yawning sleepily, she softly sighs.
Sweetly dreaming in slumber deep,
As naught disturbs her quiet sleep.
Her silky hair forms a wispy crown,
'Round a sweet face as smooth as down.
Her fist lies nestled against her face,
Curled fingers by rosy cheeks are placed.
The rounded end of her tiny nose
The slightest bit of upturn shows.
Long lashes lie gently upon her cheeks,
Her tranquil face of happiness speaks.
Soft lips as pink as a blushing rose
Lie slightly parted in peaceful repose.
The perfect picture of innocence
Continuing to dream in contended bliss.

~Behold, children are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward.~
Psalm 127:3
